Real Wedding: Victoria & Will

As autumn approaches, I'm already missing summer weddings, and this one makes me feel all the more wistful for the sunshine. A gorgeous English countryside affair, it's packed full of sweet details and inspirational ideas. Victoria and Will celebrated their big day with an intimate humanist ceremony in a tiny little village called Little Bardfield deep in the Essex countryside. Will's childhood home made for a magical setting, and the different marquees dotted around the grounds ingeniously divided the outside space into different areas according to the different stages of the day. The happy couple decided on a topsy turvy wedding day schedule, with the Pimms reception first, followed by their ceremony. This ingenious idea {one I might just steal} resulted in a truly special day that really reflected their fun personalities. Other stealworthy ideas include the quirky old-skool hat-themed seating plan, flower decorated cake, lavender bag favours, and the traditional English flowers arranged by Amelia Cornish. Fantastic photographs published with thanks to the Marianne Taylor.

Real Wedding: Amy & Jonny

You're going to love this wedding so much that you're going to want to eat it up with crumpets and honey. It's a classic English countryside affair, with lots of sweet floral accents. Amy and Jonny's chose the charming St Peter’s Church in Ightham for their ceremony, and made it extra special with singing from members of the City of London Choir. This was followed by a reception in Amy's family garden, held in a marquee decorated with stunning florals and white lanterns, plus loads of personal touches. Check out the cute lavender bags made by Amy’s mum and the Cabbages and Roses fabric napkins handstitched by the bride herself. Also loving Amy's gorgeous Amanda Wakely Sposa dress and veil, and her peony hair-clip, designed by Yasmin Rizvi. Great bridesmaid dresses too - midnight blue is such an elegant colour. Gorgeous photos, as ever, from the lovely Marianne Taylor.

Real Wedding: Anna & Andrew

Using fruit as a motif in a wedding is a fantastic idea, as it represents a relationship coming to fruitition, the start of something new, and the sweetness of life. Anna and Andrew chose apples and blossom as their theme, and green as their colour, and it all tied together beautifully. The happy couple celebrated their big day at the gorgeous Layer Marney Tower in Colchester, with ceremony in the beautiful Church of St Mary the Virgin within the grounds. Since Andrew hails from Scotland there was an abundance of men in kilts, including the cutest little page-boys. I'm also loving Anna's kitten heels {so sensible on your wedding day}, the bridesmaids' bold silk dresses, and the sweet little mice cake-toppers. Stunning calligraphy on the place-markers, and such a clever idea to use pearl-topped pins to fasten them onto the apples. Many thanks to Marianne Taylor for her fabulous photographs.

Real Wedding: Eleni & David

Prepare yourselves for something special! I'd like to welcome a brand new British photographer to Before the Big Day. Marianne Taylor is based in London, but will travel! Check out these gorgeous pics she took of Eleni and David's big day at Tamesis Sailing Club in Teddington on a beautiful summer's day last year. The happy couple arrive in a boat - such a super-cool idea. Other stealworthy details include the cute pink ribbons wrapped around the cutlery, Eleni's garden-style peony bouquet, and the fab Couple Fact Sheets. Perfect for guests you haven't seen for a while, and a great way to get the table talking at your reception. I'm also deeply in love with the baby's breath in Eleni's hair, and her stunning dress, which was made by her sister!
