A Detail-Filled Londonl Little Venice Wedding: Part 3

It's time lovely ladies, it's time for the wedding details! I meant to post this last night be jetlag got the better of me. However it means I've been particularly {if accidentally} good at suspense-building. There are so many wedding details pictured in these fabulous Caught the Light wedding pictures, you're going to be slightly blown away. It's a DIY bride's fantasy wedding! Take a look at all the paper decorations, from the handmade origami swan chandeliers, to the striped straw flags and boat place markers. I'm loving the colourful bright theme, the wonderful array of different flower blooms in little vases and the wire table numbers. With blue-striped napkins, a Catch of the Day basket for wedding wishes, a net capturing Lynda and Blair's friends' pictures, and little messages in bottles as favours, every wedding detail is in keeping with the nautical theme. I think I'm in love! Huge thanks to Chloé Browne from Caught the Light for her fabulous pictures. Don't miss the fabulousness that was Part 2, and Part 1!

A Detail-Filled London Little Venice Wedding: Part 2

When it comes to wedding transport, it doesn't get much more original than a traditional London barge! But when gorgeous couple Lynda and Blair celebrated their wedding in Maida Vale, it made perfect sense to use the canals around Little Venice to transport their guests from the ceremony venue to the wedding reception at the waterside restaurant, The Summerhouse. I'm loving how Lynda decorated the barge with pompoms {tutorial here}, bunting and paper-hearts. All these wedding decorations are super-easy to DIY - why not get a group of your girlfriends together for a big crafting night before your big day? With personalised button badges and fans as favours, and nautical red and white ribbon decorating the vases, Lynda and Blair's wedding planner, Rebecca at Harlequin & Romance thought of every wedding detail! Huge thanks to Chloé Browne from Caught the Light for her fabulous pictures. Click back later today for the wedding detail-fest that is Part 3, and click here for Part 1!

A Detail-Filled London Little Venice Wedding: Part 1

London brides are going to love this inspirational Little Venice wedding. There are so many wedding details, I've had to split it into three posts - it's a Before the Big Day record! Gorgeous couple Lynda and Blair chose to get married in a local registry office, before taking a barge down the canal {how cool is that!}, to The Summerhouse in Maida Vale for their wedding reception. It's the first time I've seen a barge used as wedding transport, and I love the idea! Lynda carried the watery theme throughout her wedding day, with tonnes of cute nautical wedding details - pictures coming soon in Part 2 and 3 later today. In these shots I'm mostly loving Lynda's elegant Jenny Packham wedding dress, her gorgeous chignon with glittery jewel hair-piece, and her yellow arum lilies bouquet. Blair looks equally dapper in his red tie and matching auburn arum lily buttonhole. Don't miss Lynda's bridesmaids' pretty dresses - the subtle button details are another nod to the nautical theme. Huge thanks to Chloé Browne from Caught the Light for her fabulous pictures - Chloé was my wedding photographer as well, so she's my favourite! Click back later today for more!

A Quirky Vintage London Wedding with a 'Super-Hero' Bride - The Reception

This eclectic vintage wedding is proof you can do pretty in London. With pastel lanterns, lace tissue bunting, and freshly picked flowers, you'd expect a marquee wedding venue, but Tasha and Niall decided to celebrate their wedding at their local - The Londesborough Pub. I've fallen for their relaxed wedding style and quirky details, from their Art Deco postcard guest book to their simple Victoria Sponge wedding cakes. Most of all, I love how happy they both look! Huge thanks to Michael from My Beautiful Bride, for his stunning pictures - hopefully more of his work coming soon on Before the Big Day. Don't miss Part 1 of this wedding.

A Quirky Vintage London Wedding with a 'Super-Hero' Bride

You can't fail to fall in love with this beautiful quirky wedding, with its gorgeous bride and groom. Tasha and Niall decided to celebrate their wedding close to home - hosting their reception in their local - a great gastropub called The Londesborough Pub, and their ceremony at the nearby Stoke Newington Town Hall. I'm slightly obsessed with Tasha's amazing wedding gown - it's a 1970s original, and would you believe, she found it on Etsy for only £80! The dress needed only the tiniest of alterations, and even came with a little lace cape - super hero bride-style! So many other stunning details to steal - starting with the pretty 'just-picked' bouquets, the forget-me-knots in Tasha's hair, and the elegant, Art Nouveau-style wedding invitations by Ellie Weehuizen. Big love to Michael from My Beautiful Bride, for his stunning pictures. I'm in love with all the portrait shots, and there's more to come in Part 2.

Real London Wedding with a Short Wedding Dress & Louboutins

Huge kudos goes to any bride who bucks the trend and wears a short wedding dress. Double-points go to Imogen, who paired her gorgeous gown with incredible Christian Louboutin's. If you've ever wanted to treat yourself to a truly extravagant pair of shoes, your wedding day is definitely the day to do it! School sweethearts, Imogen and James picked the ICA gallery as the venue for their modern London wedding, and I'm loving the combination of sharp suits and soft pastels. James looks fab in his dark suit and knitted tie {very this season}, and Imogen's bridesmaids look elegant in dark-blue dresses of their own choosing. But it's the flowers that have really got my wedding antennae twitching. Soft hydrangeas plus pastel roses, with sprigs of rosemary and lovely shabby chic containers - they're a wedding blogger's dream. Throw in the delicately decorated cake, and I'm in heaven. Fabulous photographs published with thanks to Lucy Birkhead Photography.

Monochrome Urban Wedding Inspiration

With all this wintery weather we've been having, the UK climate seems harder than ever to predict, and that makes wedding planning something of a struggle. If you've chosen a summer wedding, the last thing you want is rain! But one way to avoid worrying about the weather is to look for a wedding venue in London, for a chic urban wedding. And with monochrome weddings topping the trend list for 2013, why not reflect the city surroundings with a dramatic splash of black and white? You can either choose a modernist look, or if your London wedding venue suits a softer style, add in beautiful anemones and lace to your wedding details. Take a look at the pictures below for wedding inspiration, and don't miss my Pinterest board for yet more monochrome wedding ideas.

Real Vintage Hollywood Swiss Wedding: Kate & Lucas

For some brides, the frothy feminine style of a traditional wedding leaves them cold. Instead they choose a sophisticated theme for their wedding day, with maybe a short, chic wedding dress, and an urban venue. Gorgeous bride, Kate, plumped for the latter, picking a modern look for her wedding day, with a lovely layer of vintage glamour. Her lace covered wedding dress is the Zarita from Diane von Fuerstenberg, and works perfectly with her birdcage veil and red lipstick. Her sunshine yellow shoes perfectly match her colourful bouquet, creating a very 'put together' look - the type I can only dream of recreating! Lukas and Kate chose the Zurich Courthouse in Switzerland for their wedding venue, and hosted their reception in stylish cafe, with the lovely Andrea Kuehnis on hand to take their wedding pictures. Don't you love their style?

Real Tower of London Wedding: Vix & Rory - Reception Details

It's time to take a look a the fantastic reception details from this gorgeous London wedding. Vix and Rory chose The Dickens Inn on St Katherine's Dock for their wedding reception, and decorated it beautifully with traditional British bunting, pretty woven-willow hearts, and floral displays of sweet-smelling stocks teamed with baby's breath. They spoilt their wedding guests with not one but two, tiered wedding cakes - one elegant white and one made of cheese! I love the apple place markers, and the little fancy-dress favours, cheap and cheerful, they're the best ice-breaker, and make for hilarious photographs. Stunning pictures published with thanks to Erika from PhotoMadly and second shooter Dade Freeman from Krysalis Photography - great London Bridge portrait pictures.

Real Tower of London Wedding: Vix & Rory

Every now and then I feature a wedding where I really wish I'd been a guest, and Vix and Rory's looks like a riot! They celebrated their big day in London, with a lovely church ceremony, followed by their wedding reception at The Dickens Inn on St Katherine's Dock. I've fallen for Vix's elegant wedding style, her beautiful strapless gown, fur cape, cathedral length veil, and vintage lace fan. Bridesmaid bouquets were made up of white peonies and baby's breath, and I love the flower girls' cute baby's breath flower crown. Don't miss Part 2 of this wedding tomorrow, when I'll feature all the fabulous wedding details. Huge thanks to Erika from PhotoMadly and second shooter Dade Freeman, for their gorgeous pictures - I particularly love the portrait shots taken against the London skyline!
